This is an excerpt from Your First 1000 Copies: The Step-by-Step Guide to Marketing Your Book by Tim Grahl.
When I began working with a business coach a few years ago he immediately stressed the need to create systems and checklists for my company.
This didn’t make any sense to me at first. Why would a company of two people, myself included, have a need for systematizing the way we work? We weren’t a huge company (we still aren’t) and we never wanted to be encumbered by bureaucracy that slows things down.
However, trusting my new coach, I put aside my skepticism and began implementing some of his ideas. To my great surprise and de- light, the results were amazing.
I learned that by systemizing my workflow with a checklist or automated set of events, I freed up more quality time to focus on other areas of the business. While my trustworthy system took care of the mundane and repetitive tasks, I was able to concentrate on new ideas and opportunities to grow my business.
Like my business coach taught me, I’m going to teach you how to systemize your book marketing workflow for improved results.
If you create the right processes and checklists, they will free you up to write more quality content and connect more frequently with your readers, all while your trustworthy system does your marketing for you.
